CocoRoo

I'm really excited to introduce you to CocoRoo which I am so grateful to work with for this post. Lately I have seen the hype with the coffee ground scrubs for your skin all over Instagram. Every celeb is using it right now and I had to give it a try and let me just cut to the chase- IT WORKS. The Total Rejavanation (cutest. name. ever.) is a coffee body scrub with antioxidants and cold-pressed oils that smells like Starbucks and acts by exfoliating, smoothing, and mousturizing. The first time I tried it I applied the scrub onto my face in circular motions after cleansing. I let it sit for a few minutes before rinsing it off in the shower and the coffee grounds exfoliated my skin really well. I felt a huge difference with my skin feeling moisturized before putting on any sort of actual moisturizer and it left my skin all glowy. Seeing a difference after just one use is pretty impressive.

In addition to the coffee body scrub CocoRoo has a line of three organic coconut moisturizers: naturally naked, mint condition, and lost in lavender (my favorite!). Coconut oil is a known must for gorgeous skin and it is the key ingredient in the lotions. The aroma is so nice..like I wish you could smell it through the screen. It smells very natural, not artificial like perfumy lotions. Besides being used as a typical moisturizer it has very soothing effects thanks to the oils, so it seems perfect for other uses like massage oil (if heated enough), makeup remover, soothing sunburn, lipbalm, and so on. Natural products have so many uses it's like magic.

Something I didn't know about coconut oil is that it easily hardens when cold, so I ran the tubes under warm water for a few seconds to soften and they were good to go. I am glad that it's in a tube because products in jars collect bacteria much easier and I'm such a germaphobe. What I really love is that I can actually read the ingredients on the tubes and know what they are without googling. There are only a few ingredients in each product and they are all beneficial for skin. I really care about what I put on my body, so I'm totally into this line. Oh, and it is made right here in the USA. I'm hooked.

I've been all around New York Fashion Week surrounded by the most fashionable people and it has been another amazing season so far. It is such a breath of fresh air being around people from all over the globe with unique styles and the most vibrant personalities (fashion people are one of a kind). I especially love finally meeting people in person that I always interact with online through the blogosphere like Marianna Hewitt who is total Insta-goals.

GUESS WHAT??? MY FIRST OFFICIAL YOUTUBE VIDEO IS HERE.
After getting so many requests and contemplating if I should begin vlogging I finally got some motivation and decided to do it. I hope you enjoy watching!

Please do me a huge favor and make sure to subscribe so you can stay up to date with all of the upcoming vlogs. I have a lot planned that I want to do with it to enhance my blog so you can get to know me better and actually hear my voice instead of reading my thoughts all of the time. xoxo.

Bejeweled

Let the fun begin because today is day one of New York Fashion Week. Boy, did I miss it. This is my SIXTH season being invited and it is still so crazy to me. I was sitting at shows before I was even able to drive years ago..like what? I have a lot of events I am planning on attending and I feel really guilty because I need to style some looks. I already decided on what places I want to eat at around the area, but I'm not 100% sure on the outfit. Get it together Raquel.

Anyway, today was a snow day which was a blessing because I got to have a nice pamper day. I'm about to kick back with a cup on matcha and my current read of the moment to end the day, but the purpose of this post (finally) is just a little recap of all the pieces I wore from the Born Pretty Store this week. Thank you BPS for gifting them to me! How cute is that layered necklace? I have a thing for wearing multiple necklaces, so this just makes life 10x easier.

What is your favorite piece?

Glazed Over Donuts

"YOU DONUT EVEN KNOW HOW FUN CUSTOM MAKING YOUR OWN DONUTS ARE..."

Right smack dab in the middle of Main St. in Beacon, New York lies one of the trendiest, yummiest new hot spots. Glazed Over Donuts opened less than two weeks ago and has already scored social media attention with their Instagram worthy donuts (I posted mine, obviously). Owners, Lisa and Ron Tompkins, have brought this yummy addition to an already vibrant area with a concept that has not been done in any other surrounding towns. They were inspired by a similar type of food spot while vacationing and the rest is history. It seems like the art of customizing your own donuts is here to stay.

With the perfect family atmosphere and everyone's favorite sweet treat, Glazed Over Donuts has the perfect recipe (for success + the most delicious donuts you will ever eat). The hype was bigger than they initially anticipated, but I could definitely see why it was such a hit. I was kindly invited to come in this past Friday afternoon which I assumed would be a slower time, but I walked right into the buzzing shop and people just kept on coming in and out with boxes in hand. Move over NYC artisan bakeries, the Hudson Valley is on your level now.

Now the menu is truly magical. Should I do Nutella...no wait, caramel sounds good. That was my situation for approximately ten minutes of deciding what to order and I ended up with half a dozen of completely different combinations. The donuts, which have an amazing cake batter taste, come out hot and fresh and the action can literally be watched through the clear window into the kitchen where it all happens. They are a twist on the typical donut and customized in a three step process: glaze, toppings, and drizzles. My favorite toppings happened to be fruity pebbles and marshmallows, but everything that I ordered was spectacular. No ifs, ands, or buts about that. Now I love good old Dunkin' Donuts, but Glazed Over Donuts is nowhere near comparable. The taste and quality is simply out of this world. It looks like I will be heading to Beacon more frequently just to keep trying new combinations!

Follow Glazed Over donuts on Facebook to keep up!
and thank you to Glazed Over Donuts for having me...xo

Choker + Sweater

Happy first day of February! New month, new stuff coming up. Recently it hit me that I feel like Hannah Montana, not because she used to be my everything, but because of the two-separate worlds thing. Unlike her situation, neither of my lives are a secret from one another, but I am always going from one thing to the next.

Imagine waking up at 6am and then going to high school all day. After that I may have to head to NYC right after for a photoshoot, appearance, or blogging project. Don't forget about finishing a ton of homework (no exaggeration there) #honorstudent. Then I remember everything else because I love the gym, horseback riding, volunteering, and a billion other things. Woah. I guess my life is pretty different from the average seventeen year old, but it has taught me a lot about being well-rounded. Plus time management is a piece of cake.

So here I am taking one new step at a time in a new sweater from Zaful. I've already expressed my choker obsession, so this cozy sweater duo was made for me. This is why Zaful is literally my number one.
