You got it! I was in Jamaica! I don't even think I can describe what a wonderful time I had. Everything was so amazing there. We flew into Montego Bay and then took an hour and a half ride to Ocho Rios, which is where we were staying. I really enjoyed the ride as that gave me a chance to really see the real country outside of the resorts. The houses are very colorful and their were a variety of types. Some homes were very small without proper covering and others were very large mansions. Another thing I did not know was that they have many chains of Burger Kings and KFC's there as well! Many people there are in poverty, but that didn't seem to stop fashion in some cases. Lots of women from poor families can sew and create their own dresses and accessories. The talent was amazing and so very creative. I was in love with the colors and patterns people used to make clothing and to sometimes sell in the markets.
I stayed at the Riu Ocho Rios, which is an all-inclusive resort right on the beach. Being able to have any type of food 24 hours a day was crazy. All of the workers were so nice and they remembered me from eating at certain restaurants throughout the trip. The views from the hotel were also beautiful. Right outside my hotel was the beautiful view of the Caribbean Sea and many palm trees filled with coconuts which were served out on the beach daily to drink from. The Riu also had many activities daily such as water sports (I went kayaking), beach parties, and different games throughout the hotel. There is something there for any age or person to do. One of the things I enjoyed the most was seeing all of the style inspiration inside the hotel as well. There were visitors from all over the world, so there were many different looks. Once you are there for a few days, faces become familiar and you get to know certain people. It is also very easy to go see other sites outside of the hotel with tour services. I got to go horseback riding along the beach and go to the market on Main Street in Ocho Rios. Almost everywhere there accepts the US dollar. In Jamaica, $1 USD is equal to $100 Jamaican dollars. I was so amazed with the whole experience that I am missing Jamaica already!

Fun Fact: In Jamaica, you drive like the British on the opposite side of the road compared to in America.
Too Beautiful!
Outside the hotel room
Mmmm...
The landscaping is beautiful here as well!

Being silly on the beach :)
I went to a grocery store and here is a price example. These Kind bars cost $292.50 in Jamaican dollars or $2.92 in USD.
Drinking out of a fresh coconut. They take them right down from the tree for you!

Horseback riding on the beach! We went all the way into the water and we did a nice trail ride. It was amazing!

DeleteWow you are so lucky! I went to Jamaica many years ago and it was absolutely beautiful. Food was amazing and it was honestly paradise. I don't know where you are in Jamaica but if you are close, you should definitely check out the haunted plantation of Annie Palmer-White Witch of Rose Hall. Totally creepy, if you're into that thing!
