Daily Explorations

How cute are these heels from Gamiss? I have been wanting to wear them, so I paired it with this red lacy blouse and made it happen. Today is feeling like another one of those days where I go out aimlessly looking to discover something new. You see, when I am working/playing in NYC there is something going on on every corner. The movement and endlessness adventure is inspiring. It is a different type of lifestyle. Then there is the rest of the time when I am back up in the Valley and need some form of entertainment...stat. It is hard to fulfill my yearn for new things when a new restaurant opens only every few months and it seems like I have done it all.

The good part is that there are a bunch of surrounding villages and towns that are super quaint, so I venture out there. Thank goodness for that to help fill my void or else I would go crazy circling the local mall (a.k.a. my second home) for the third time in one week. Don't worry, I still find things to buy though. You know it is bad when workers at multiple neighborhood food spots know your order by heart.

Sometimes I forget about how cool the area that I live in is though because I'm so used to it. Try being a tourist in your own neighborhood and you will know what I mean. I have enjoyably spent a lot of my time horseback riding, hiking, kayaking, and so on. I can operate NYC subways like it's nothing, but you can't take the country out of this girl.

  2. You look stunning! I love both the heels and shirt, they go so well together. And I love the idea of being a tourist in your own town! There are always so many new things to discover, you're right. I live in a small town but I recently found we have some really nice cross country skiing trails that I didn't even know about! Happy exploring, and happy new year :)
