Spring Suede

"Hoppy" Easter to all of my beautiful followers! Easter always has me breaking in the pastel colors instead of the New York state-of-mind "black is such a happy color". Today felt like the official intro into spring and I'm all set for the sun to make its permanent appearance. Que in memories of warm nights drinking fresh squeezed lemonade and wearing your favorite high-waisted shorts. Pure bliss, huh. I am still on spring break from school, so I've been shooting new content and scheduling out the next few months in between my piles of school work. I'll make sure to keep you in the know about what's coming up right here and Instagram, so make sure you're following.

My family and I had brunch at The Grandview on the Hudson today where I broke my clean eating habits, but I have no regrets whatsoever. As usual I found my happy place at the dessert table decked out with chocolate marquise and crème brûlée. In my opinion the only thing harder than deciding what to eat first was deciding what to wear. I settled on a camel suede shift dress which is one of my favorite trends this season. When going to a fancy buffet I think a shift dress is an optimal choice. You can look super cute and feel free to eat as much as you want equaling a total win-win situation. I threw in a chunky necklace to add some attention to the neckline and paired black wedges because you can never go wrong with black wedges.

Catch Me on Rachael Ray

Hopefully you saw my behind-the-scenes post on Instagram so you know that this past week I filmed a fashion styling segment on The Rachael Ray Show. The piece was so much fun to film where I styled my mom and shared the best kept secrets on how busy moms, like mine, can dress fashionable while being comfy. I've always been a super huge Rachael fan, so it was amazing getting to make an appearance on her renowned talk show.

Classic Couture

Jovani
I feel like every time I do a runway show I want to keep everything I wear. This past weekend I was booked to walk in a fashion show for a couture boutique featuring designer pieces ranging from the 1990s to current trends. I am waiting on the professional shots from the media to share, but in the meantime these snapshots show off the fabulous outfits. They showcased many of my favorite high-end brands including Chanel, Balmain, and Versace. The owner and stylist, Leah, did a fantastic job at piecing together pieces that were all sophisticated and versatile for all ages. One thing I specifically loved and found different about this show was that there was a great range of models of different diversities, shapes, and ages. I'm really beginning to see the whole fashion revolution shine through this year one strut at a time.

How to Get Into Modeling

Throwback to being a HV Parent Cover Kid!
Over the years I have gotten the constant question of how to go about the modeling industry. It is a big world with many sub-categories underneath the term "model". Runway, commercial print, promo, editorial, fit, catalog, and so on. I've been modeling since I was a kid, so I feel like it's almost become my lifestyle. I thought it would be useful to gather a little bit of advice for stepping into the industry for any prospective models in the making.
